Paul brought the music this week and described it as a mix of Hindi and Hippie. We had about 20 people dancing and enjoying the music. Several people did contact improv and there is now discussion about starting a group to do that once a week or so. If there's any interest, let me know.

We also welcomed Flora who was a first time dancer and is looking at doing more outdoor dance sessions with local drummers. Hopefully that will work out and we'll have musicians at one of our future dances in Camel's Back.

We also discussed what community groups we would like to donate our funds to. If you have thoughts, please add them to the Community Groups page. See you next week.

I guess I forgot to write about last week but the dance went well. We had 27 people dancing for Matt's 28th birthday.

This week we were once again dancing outside in Camel's Back Park. Too many people coming and going to keep track of how many danced, but there were at least 30 of us. Many of whom didn't know about CEED and just happened to be in the park that day. Hopefully some of them will continue to dance with us. If you missed it, make sure to be there for our next outdoor dance on June 28. See you then, if not before.

There were no fruit songs this time but Randy still put together a great mix of music for us. We had just over 20 people dancing on Sunday including some who hadn't been in months. More people are coming back after months away and it seems like they're staying now which explains why our numbers continue to grow. If you haven't stopped by recently, you should try it again. I hope to see you soon.

We finally got a new sound system, tested it on Sunday and it worked great. The rest of dance went well. Frank provided the music which had more energy and a faster beat than we had the previous two weeks. There were about 16-18 people dancing including some we haven't seen in months and two new people. It's good to see the word is getting out about CEED and many people are having fun with it. See you next week.

April 26

This week was our first outdoor ecstatic dance and I wasn't sure what to expect. The weather was cool but sunny and dry. By the end of dance, we had 23 people (and three dogs) join in the festivities. It was a fun time and went over much better than I expected. Many of the people there admitted to being apprehensive before taking part, but after several dancers asked if we would consider doing this once a month during the warmer times of the year. I'm up for it, are you? Leave a comment to let us know.

Today's dance started off mellow with most people arriving about half way through, but it worked well since everyone seemed to have had a busy week. Paul did a great job providing the music.

Next week the dojo is being used so we'll have to hold CEED somewhere else. Paul has offered the use of his home and back patio so it sounds like we'll be dancing there. Details will be coming out by email soon. I hope to see you there.

We had a good dance session this week with music from Randy. I had it wrong in the email I sent out but it worked out great anyway. A fun set with many of us signing and humming "Waltzing with Bears" over coffee after dance.

April 5

We had a fun session today and it was my first week back after missing two weeks. We had another good size group with about 16-18 people dancing today. One of the best parts was when David and Paul started "ball surfing." They each threw themselves on to a yoga ball and slid across the floor bring another fun and playful element to dance. By the end of that song, most of us had taken a turn ball surfing.

The music that Paul brought this week was an entertaining mix. My favorite was the Gregorian Chant version of "Nothing Else Matters" written by Metallica. It was a wonderful new interpretation of the song and fun to dance to. See you next week.

Matt brought in a fun mix of music today consisting mostly of different types of Irish music (from high energy modern Irish punk to slower traditional Irish folk ballads). There was also some Cuban and Icelandic music mixed in for diversity. It was fun for the 14 of us there. Most of us were into the spirit of St. Patty's day and wearing plenty of green.

I'll be gone for the next two weeks but hope that dance goes well and look forward to seeing you again soon.

I was away last week but I heard the dance went really well. This week we had another great set of music. It was a nice diverse selection from classical (William Tell Overture) to modern (Put The Lime In The Coconut) and had a banana theme in the middle with 4 or 5 songs all about the fruit. There were a few late comers with the time change but they're excited about next week. Matt has offered to music for next week with a St. Patty's Day theme so be sure to wear green. See you then.
